History

Before a station was built in the strict sense, there were two breakpoints at the Görlitz line. The current station is approximately at the level of the recorded since 1876 in the northern plans required breakpoint Bude 10 Adlershof Adlershof on the village street (now Dörpfeldstraße ), the southern breakpoint Glienicke was at the height of Glienicker path. The breakpoint has been used on the open road since 1872, but ridership grew so rapidly that in 1874 two side platforms were built. On January 8, 1894 reception building was opened on the new station Adlershof -Glienicke and abandoned the breakpoint Glienicke. Since October 1901 was called the station Adlershof - Altglienicke later Adlershof - Old Glienicke.

With the establishment of the Teltow Canal from 1900 to 1906, there was extensive renovations and an increase in the local industrial. 1905 started reconstruction work in the wake of the suspension lift Görlitz line on a dam. By 1907, emerged as two central platforms, one for the now circulating on their own track suburban railway ( S -Bahn today ) and for the long-distance transport. At the same time the construction of the Rangierwerks began north of Adlershof in today's operating Schöneweide, led its tracks in the Görlitz line before Adlershof, and extensive track systems on the factory premises of Adlershof.

In 1909 the tram - Adlershof Altglienicke was opened. In 1912 the tram - Adlershof Cöpenick by the Urban tram Cöpenick. Only with the founding of the Berlin Tram 1920/1921 both lines were tied to a common line.

With the electrification of the suburban railway in 1928 this went from November 6, 1928 from Adlershof electrically. From 1 January 1935, the additional name Old Glienicke was dropped, the station has since been known Berlin -Adlershof.

Station reconstruction (1957-1969)

On September 29, 1957, the platform of the mainline was abandoned and subsequently demolished. The old founder temporal station building was demolished in 1964. It was about the height of the southern pedestrian tunnel. The construction work, in the course of 1960 new bridge decks were used on the Rudow Chaussee, brought a new cut of the receipts. The old station building was approximately at the level of the southern pedestrian tunnels, the new lobby was created in tile 1960s-style Jahrean the intersection Dörpfeldstraße / Rudow Chaussee. On October 7, 1969, the opening of the designed by the architect Horst Schubert and Manfred large building took place. The station area afterwards remained unchanged for over 30 years.

Station reconstruction (2006-2011)

With the establishment of the scientific and economic location Adlershof ( WISTA ) from 1992, the request was for a powerful modern train station. Initial plans emerged in 1996, on 5 September 2002 the design of the new station was completed before. However, the amount recognized for late 2003 to 2006 Conversion was repeatedly delayed.

In a large-scale project seven bridges and three stations were modernized from 2006 to 2010 at the Görlitz line in Berlin or rebuilt. Work in Adlershof station extend from July 2006 November 2011. Bridges, reception halls, stairways and the platform were thereby completely replaced by new buildings. The bridges over the Rudow Chaussee was widened from 36 to 54 meters, so that trams and buses stop right below it.

Until 1962 the tram was on the Adlergestell east of the dam of the Görlitz line, since they led Adlershof station on the Rudow Chaussee under the railway bridge and then had a stop at the southern exit west of the dam. There lies since the closure of the route to Altglienicke 1993, a turning loop. During the reconstruction of the station tram stop has been temporarily relocated to the east of the dam to a triangular turning on the Adlergestell. The extension of the tram on the median strip of Rudow Chaussee west to the Karl Ziegler Road was opened on September 4, 2011, which at the railway station turning loop was retained for operational purposes. The bus from the direction Rudow Chaussee have since been performed shortly before the train station on the route of the tram, to relieve the carriageway.

The new platform area was opened on 15 July 2009. The southern access tunnel was extended to Adlergestell and open the new outlet on November 11, 2010. The construction of the underpass should be initially completed by the end of 2010, but lasted until 30 November 2011. On this day, Rudow Chaussee was reopened to general traffic.
