Administrative divisions of Moscow

The Russian capital Moscow is divided into 10 administrative districts (Russian административный округ, Administratiwny okrug ) divided, said each of which each of several Raion (Russian район ) city parts. In total there are 125 Rajons (as at 30 June 2012). On July 1, 2012 Moscow was expanded at the expense of the surrounding Moscow Oblast to the southwest of the two administrative districts of Troitsk and Nowomoskowsk. The number of Moscow administrative districts increased to 12 The two new districts are provisionally managed by a single prefect.
