Adnan al-Aroor

ʿ Adnan Muhammad Ibn al - ʿ ʿ Ar ūr (Arabic: عدنان بن محمد العرعور ), ( * 1948 in Hama ) is a native of Syria, a Sunni religious scholar. He was known among other things for his critical debates and his research on the Shiites and Sufis based on his Salafist ideology. Adnan al - ʿ ʿ Ar ūr lives since the crackdown on the Muslim Brotherhood in Hama in 1982 in the Saudi Arabian capital Riyadh.

Teaching

Adnan al - ʿ ʿ Ar ūr studied with some influential scholars. Among them were Muhammad al - Hamid al - Albani, Muhammad Nasib al - ʿ ī Rafa, Muḥammad ʿ Abd al - ʿ Abbasi and the last Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia Ibn Baaz.

Al- ʿ ʿ Ar ūr and the Syrian conflict

Since the beginning of the Syrian protests in 2011, al - ʿ ʿ Ar has been ūr seen several times in the Saudi satellite channel al -Safa. He stands out because of critical comments over Nichtsunniten. Although he has several times officially called for a peaceful revolution without force of arms, he threatened in June 2011, loyal to the regime Alawites with murder. In Syrian circles it is partially regarded as well-known symbol of the opposition.
