ADOdb Lite

ADOdb Lite is a lightweight, fast and largely compatible ADOdb database abstraction layer for the PHP scripting language. For each HTTP access only 1/6 of system RAM is required compared to the original ADOdb lite (<100 kB, ADOdb ADOdb Lite 640 kB) and according to the results of a benchmark using the Microsoft Web Application Stress Tool up to 300 percent faster.

  • PHP / MySQL: 93.20 pages per second
  • ADOdb Lite: 54.62 pages per second
  • ADOdb: 17.40 pages per second

Given these results, ADOdb Lite is also compared with other function libraries for database abstraction very quickly.

It does not seem to be further developed so that it is becoming increasingly unusable with increasing development of SQL and PHP. The homepage on Sourcefourge.net is dysfunctional (May 2012).
