Band History

The Adolescents ( " adolescents " ) was founded in 1980 and come from the same scene as, among others, Bad Religion, the Circle Jerks and TSOL. Skip to first occupation was bassist Steve Soto, who had previously been active in Agent Orange, the singer Tony Cadena, the guitarist Frank Agnew ( previously with Social Distortion ) and John O'Donovan and the drummer "Peter Pan". After O'Donovan and Pan left the band, played the rest of the formation, together with Rikk Agnew's brother (guitar) and Casey Royer (drums) in 1981 published a self-titled debut album. This was produced by Thom Wilson, who later also for bands like TSOL, DOA and The Offspring worked.

After the first album indeed grew more success, but also the tensions among the band members. Constant line-up changes accompany the entire history of Adolescents. Rikk Agnew first left the group and was initially replaced by Pat Smear from the Germs and shortly thereafter by Steve Roberts. Shortly before the start of a planned U.S. tour, the Adolescents broke up after the release of Welcome to Reality on the first time.

1986 started Tony Cadena, Rikk Agnew and Steve Soto a re-union and took Brats In Battalions with Sandy Hansen and Alfie Agnew ( the younger brother of Frank and Rikk ) on. Following the resignation of Cadena they played the album Balboa Fun Zone, a, Frank Agnew took back to the band and toured for three years by the United States until it came to a re-dissolution of the band.

2001 there was a new reunion of the band in the cast of the first album. Meanwhile, Rikk Agnew and Casey Royer have dropped and replaced by Derek O'Brien and Frank Agnew's son, Frank Jr..

In 2005, the band celebrated its 25th anniversary with a series of concerts and publications. Meanwhile, they played in front of a completely different younger audience. After Frank Agnew Jr. after touring 2005/2006 continued his school career, joined Matt Beld (Los Infernos, Cadillac Tramps ) for him.

In 2007, she began recording a new album. In 2008 she went on a European tour.

The beginning of 2010, they won the OC Music Award in the category Best punk band. Mid-2010, finally the album The Fastest Kid Alive was released.
