Adolf Lang

Adolf Alexander Láng ( born June 15, 1848 in Prague, † May 2, 1913 in Vienna) was a Hungarian architect of historicism.

Life

Láng studied k.k. on Polytechnic Institute in Vienna and worked on it in the office of Heinrich von Ferstel. From 1870 he worked for the sugárút Építő Vállalat Rt establishing the Andrássy street in Budapest and is responsible for the planning of several apartment buildings and public buildings ( such as the old Academy of Music and the ancient art gallery). Later he established his own office in Budapest and also taught at the ku Joseph University of Technology and Economics Budapest. In a shared office with Antal Steinhardt he won during the 1890s a number of public works in Hungary; often as a result won architectural competitions.

1912 láng settled in Vienna and died in 1913 at the age of 65.
