Adolf Lohse

Adolf ( Hermann) Lohse ( born August 30, 1807 in Berlin, † January 15, 1867 ) was a Prussian architect and student of Karl Friedrich Schinkel.

Lohse attended the Friedrichwerdersche high school, which he left in 1825 as a student of upper - Secunda, to devote himself to the building trades. On January 13, 1827 he successfully passed the examination as a surveyor and became on May 3, as a civil servant in the royal Prussian government to Frankfurt / O. sworn in and appointed governmental Kondukteur. In 1828 he returned to Berlin to conduct until 1829 the construction of the State Stud in Zirke. The following years to 1840 were filled with numerous government contracts, then increasingly focused on private buildings.

On March 27, 1847 Lohse passed his state examination as a land and water engineering inspector. His appointment as royal master builder took place on 11 December 1849.

From mid- 1855 took Lohse several extended trips to France, Belgium, England, Ireland, Scotland, Italy and Switzerland. On June 1, 1857 Lohse began operations as a construction inspector in Berlin again. Because of his contributions he received on March 7, 1862, the court appointed Könliglichen - building officer.

One of his works is the Albrecht Castle at Dresden. It was built in 1850-1854 for the Prussian Prince Albrecht, the brother of King Friedrich Wilhelm IV. The neighboring Lingner castle was built according to his plans.

1860 Lohse was entrusted with the reconstruction of the Vernezobreschen Palais in Berlin's Wilhelmstrasse 102, Prince Albrecht, received from now on as Prinz-Albrecht- Palais in history.

Could not complete Lohse the concourse for the Prussian Eastern Railway in Berlin, the first Ostbahnhof.
