Adolf Zander

Adolf Zander ( born January 16, 1843 in Barnewitz Havel; † August 1, 1914 in Kleinaupa / Giant Mountains ) was a German composer, organist of the church of St. Sophia (Berlin), choir director, Royal Prussian Music Director and Founder of the new Berliner Liedertafel.

Life

Adolf Zander worked as a musician and teacher, in particular, he devoted himself to choral music. He founded in 1881 the " Zander 's Quartet Club ," was from 1877 to 1880 the second conductor of the Berlin men's choir " Liedeslust " and led in 1884 both choirs in the new Berlin Liedertafel together.

Zander lived in Berlin around 1880 in the Supreme 26, later in the Krautstraße 16 and 1895 in Graefestraße.

He was buried on 7 September 1914 on the Graveyard Old Sophie (Berlin -Mitte).
