Adolfo Celi
Adolfo Celi ( born July 27, 1922 in Messina, Sicily, † February 19, 1986 in Rome ) was an Italian film actor and director.
Life
Celi appeared in nearly 100 movies, especially in roles as an international villain to. His most famous role was as Emilio Largo in the 1965 James Bond rotated 007 - Fireball. He also appeared as the protagonist in some Italian comedies, such as in Brancaleone on crusade to the Holy Land.
Celi spoke several languages fluently, but was mostly synchronized because of its strong Sicilian accent in English-speaking films. In Thunderball, and adventures in Rio its text passages by Robert Rietti was nachgesprochen. In the 1981 BBC series The Borgias rotated, in which he detailed Rodrigo Borgia, he was not synchronized, so that it was difficult to understand due to his thick accent, which he was very mocked by critics and audiences.
Celi studied at the Accademia d' Arte Drammatica in Rome. He was also a successful stage actor, and lived and worked from 1946 to 1962 in Argentina and Brazil. With three films he led in South America Director.
Celi was married three times. He died in 1986 in Rome of a heart attack.
