Adolph II of the Marck

Adolf II († 1347 ) ruled the county of Mark, and later the County Cleves. He was the first son of Count Engelbert II of the Mark and his wife Matilda of Arenberg.

Adolf II, who was also Vogt of meeting food, reached there in 1337 that his sister Catherine was elected by the Mark there to abdicate Kunigunde of mountain abbess.

By Adolf II marriage with Countess Margaret of Cleves, daughter of Count Dietrich VIII of Cleves and heiress of the county of Cleves, his son could later take over this county.

He is not to be confused with his uncle Adolf II, Bishop of Liege.
