The Adomi Bridge ( English: Adomi Bridge, formerly Volta Bridge ) is a road bridge over the Volta in Ghana. It is about 10 km downstream of the Akosombo Dam, which impounds the Lake Volta, near the district capital Atimpoku in Asuogyaman District in the Eastern Region. It is a part of the Tema - Jasikan Road ( N2), which connects Accra Tema over to the areas east of the Volta reservoir, and thus one of the most important transport links between the two sides of the Volta.

The Adomi bridge has two lanes and two walkways. It is equipped with a wingspan of 245.36 m (805 ft) and an overall length of 336 m the country's longest bridge.

The two hinged steel arch bridge with bottom lane has an approximately 60 m high arch of a truss structure, from which the bridge deck is suspended with ropes.

The construction of the proposed by Freeman, Fox & Partners bridge began before the independence of Ghana in 1956 under British colonial rule. It was completed in 1957 after the Declaration of Independence and opened by Prime Minister Kwame Nkrumah.

The bridge was originally planned for much higher loads than to British standards required. Nevertheless, showed in 2008, after more than 50 years, some stress fractures. 2011 a detailed examination was carried out, followed by the Ghana Highway Authority with the help of an Austrian loan of € 12.9 million, a comprehensive renovation of the dilapidated bridge officers, in which the roadway deck and the suspension cables to be completely renewed.

The 30- month long rehabilitation measures should, according to initial information to begin as early as 2012 and were finally announced for June 2013. According to the latest information they have already started on May 13, 2013. The bridge has to be fully locked.
