Adrian Metcalfe

Adrian Metcalfe ( Adrian Peter Metcalfe, born March 2, 1942 in Bradford) is a former British sprinter, who specializes in the 400 -meter run.

In 1961 he presented on 2 September in Dortmund with a 45.7 s Weltjahresbestzeit on. The following year he was fourth at the European Athletics Championships 1962 in Belgrade and won with the British team bronze in the 4 x 400 - meter relay. Also a silver medal for him in the same year with the English team in the 4-by- 440- yards - season of the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Perth.

At the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1964, he reached the quarterfinals over 400 meters. In the 4 x 400 - meter relay, the British quartet in the cast Tim Graham, Metcalfe, John Cooper and Robbie Brightwell won in 3:01,6 min silver behind the U.S. relay, with 3:00,7 min a world record.
