Adrian Popescu

Adrian Mihai Popescu ( born July 26, 1960 in Craiova, Dolj county ) is a former Romanian football player and current coach. He completed a total of 301 games in the highest Romanian league, the Divizia A, and participated in the World Cup 1990.

Career as a player

Adrian Popescu began his career at Universitatea Craiova. On March 14, 1981, he performed his first mission in the highest Romanian football league, the Divizia A. In season 1983/84 Popescu became a regular player. He held Uni Craiova to 1992 and won the loyalty during this time twice the Romanian Championship and the Romanian Cup twice. In 1992, his career a kink when he decided to move abroad and the Swiss club FC Locarno joined, who played in the second division, the National League B.
