Adriana Calcanhotto
Adriana da Cunha Calcanhotto ( born October 3, 1965 in Porto Alegre) is a Brazilian singer.
Life
The daughter of a jazz drummer and a dancer her life was shaped early artistic. With 6 years she starts to play guitar and later singing.
Musically, it was influenced by the MPB ( Música Popular Brasileira ), the Brazilian literary modernism. She was influenced, inter alia, Mário de Andrade and Tarsila do Amaral.
Her artistic career began as a singer in pubs and a theater actress, she later came across Brazil as a songwriter. With their first plate she fell: they won the 1991 Prêmio Sharp as female discovery. Most of the songs she writes and produces herself, but she has already Dorival Caymmi songs by Caetano Veloso and interpreted.
