The ADVA Optical Networking SE with headquarters in the Bavarian Martinsried near Munich, is a provider of telecommunications equipment, particularly for fiber-optic transmission technology.

2012 (2011), the company generated 1,378 ( 1,304 ) employees and generated sales of EUR 330.1 ( 310.9 ) million euros. Net income was 16.7 ( 16.9 ) million euros. The ADVA Optical Networking will be used according to the company of more than 250 carriers and 10,000 enterprises in all parts of the world.

The legal headquarters and the production facility of the company are located in Meiningen ( Thuringia). In addition, ADVA Optical Networking has several subsidiaries in Norcross (Georgia, USA), York ( UK ), Oslo (Norway ), Kista / Stockholm (Sweden), São Paulo (Brazil ), Singapore, Shenzhen (China), Gdansk ( Poland) and Tokyo ( Japan).

History

ADVA Optical Networking was founded in 1994 as a small startup in Meiningen and Munich. In 1996 a daughter were added in the United States and offices in France and the United Kingdom. In the following years, additional offices and several acquisitions and further generations of products were put on the market. Since 1997, the company focused on the WDM technology. On 29 March 1999 the company went public in Frankfurt am Main. Other production facilities in Meiningen were built 2000/2001 and 2006.

Between September 2006 and 25 March 2008 and between 20 September 2010 and 24 March 2014, the company was listed on the Nasdaq.
