Advanced Communications Riser

The Advanced Communication ( s ) Riser ( ACR short ) is a bus system for the PC. The spelling varies depending on the source: partly with and partly without the additional " s " at the end of Communication.

The bus system is a combination between the Audio Modem Riser ( AMR ) and the Communication and Networking Riser ( CNR) dar. Optical sees an ACR slot like a 180 degrees rotated PCI bus. Since the ACR bus is backward-compatible, also AMR cards can be operated with it. Not all of the 120 pin connectors are needed.

To use the bus came, especially in the early 2000s on some motherboards to connect special audio cards, for example. However, he has never really enforced and place in today's PCs barely use.
