Advent of Divine Justice

The book The Coming of divine justice was written by Shoghi Effendi, the Guardian of the Baha'i faith. The original English edition was published in 1939.

Background

Shoghi Effendi wrote a very extensive letter to the Baha'is of the United States and Canada. This letter, dated December 25, 1938, was published as a book entitled "The advent of divine justice" in the following year. The German translation was published in 1969 and contains 151 pages.

Content

In the letter, Shoghi Effendi calls to raise the North American Bahai upon himself to build the World Order of Baha'u'llah. Shoghi Effendi describes the possibilities of the Baha'is and their responsibilities, their mission and their tasks to be performed and provides the necessary intellectual conditions for success is: a high conception of moral rectitude in their social and administrative activities, absolute chastity in the life of every individual and complete freedom from prejudice in their dealings with people of different races, classes, creeds or color. He calls the Baha'i, who can earn their living in foreign countries, to settle there in order to spread their faith. The objectives of the Seven -Year Plan (1937-1944) are to be achieved. Shoghi Effendi quoted passages of Baha'u'llah on the front of them tests the community. Although the work was written shortly before the outbreak of the Second World War, Shoghi Effendi outlined in how the American nation in the future can help in the creation of world peace.
