Aëdon

Aedon (Greek Ἀηδών, nightingale ) In Greek mythology, the daughter of Pandareos and Hermothoe and the wife of the king of Thebes, Zethos.

Their children were Itylos and Neis, her sister Niobe, wife of Amphion, son of Zeus and Antiope - and this envied their numerous progeny. So she decided to kill their eldest son, the Sipylos in his sleep. But when they mistook the bed and her own son died Itylos therefore she begged the gods to desperate to take her human form. Zeus transformed it into a nightingale.
