Ælfwold II of Sherborne

Ælfwald II (also Alfwold or Ælfwold, † 1058 ) was Bishop of Sherborne.

He was first a monk of Winchester, and was then in 1045 as a successor to his own brother Brithwyn (or Brihtwine ) consecrated Bishop of Sherborne. William of Malmesbury reported that was his modesty in contrast to the usual time in the pageantry.

He showed a great devotion to his old patron of Winchester, St. Swithun. He was in a sense the last Bishop of Sherborne. After his death the diocese of Sherborne was merged with the diocese of Ramsbury. In 1170, then went on Ramsbury in the Diocese of Salisbury.
