Æðuvík

Æðuvík [ ɛavʊvʊik ] (Danish: Avevig ) is a place of the Faroe Islands at the southern tip of the island Eysturoy.

It has its name from the village Eider ( Faroese: AEDA ) and Vik, the word for Bay. So Æðuvík means eiders bay.

The town was founded in 1897. In former times in this place the old local Thingstätte Ting Hella. The point is to see today: It is located just north of the village close to the sea and is accessible only by water.
