Affogato

Affogato al caffè (Eng. " drowned in coffee " ), referred to outside of Italy as falsely Espresso Affogato ( " drowned Espresso" ) is a dessert made of Italian cuisine.

A scoop of vanilla ice cream is placed in a small cup or a small glass and doused with hot espresso. The ice ball drowns ( Italian affogare ) in espresso. Affogato is eaten with a small spoon. It can also be served with hazelnut ice variants, cocoa powder, cream or liquid chocolate.
