Afghan Museum

The former, privately-owned Afghan Museum Hamburg opened in the historic warehouse district in 1998 and closed December 23, 2011 final.

Among many exhibits around Afghanistan traditional Afghan craftsmanship was demonstrated, further shown replicas Afghan monuments, such as the destroyed Buddha of Bamiyam or the fortress of Bost. An oriental seating area with tea and snacks for visitors rounded off the exhibition. Some days were held special events.

The Afghan Museum was located in the old memory block L (Am Sandtorkai 32 ) on the first floor (first floor ), directly under the Spice Museum.
