Åfjord is a commune (municipality) in Central Norway. It is located around 80 km north- west of Trondheim on the northwest side of the Fosen peninsula. The capital and administrative seat is Årnes, more settlements are Monstad and Stoksund on Stokksund. In Årnes lead two of the richest salmon rivers in Norway in the Åfjord, the Nordalselva and Stordalselva.

The economy of the village is dominated by fishing, farming and forestry.
