Aflac

Aflac Incorporated ( American Family Life Assurance Company) is a US-based insurance company headquartered in Columbus, Georgia. Aflac is listed on the S & P 500 and has a market value of 24 billion U.S. dollars. In particular, the company offers health and life insurance companies and employs 8,284 staff. The company has more than 40 million customers in the United States and Japan, with 75 % of sales accounted for by the latter. Despite the natural disaster in Japan in 2011, its consequences and the financial crisis increased the insurer, 2012, the 30th consecutive year the dividend to shareholders.

The company was founded in 1955 in Columbus, Georgia by the three brothers, John, Paul and Bill Amos. Initially was the name of the company American Family Life Assurance Company. Only since 1990, the company operates under Aflac. End of 2004, Aflac had assets under management of more than 59 billion dollars.

In 2005, the company logo was changed to incorporate the well-known in the United States duck into the logo. Aflac has been especially known for its advertising on television in the United States, which occurred a duck.
