Afonso, Duke of Porto

Alfons Heinrich, Duke of Porto (Portuguese Dom Afonso Henrique Maria Luís Pedro de Alcântara António Miguel Carlos Humberto Amadeu Fernando Rafael Gabriel Gonzaga Xavier Francisco de Assis João Augusto Júlio Valfando Inácio de Sabóia Saxe -Gotha e Bragança - Coburgo; born July 31, 1865 in Lisbon, † February 21, 1920 in Naples) was born as the second son of Ludwig I of Portugal and his wife Maria Pia of Savoy. The title of the Viceroy of Portuguese India, whose last carrier as he was, he held only in 1896. When in 1910 the first Portuguese Republic was proclaimed, Alfons went along with the other members of the Royal Family to the UK into exile, though he made soon after Italy, where he worked in Rome, the American Nevada Stoody Hayes married in 1917. The marriage remained childless.
