The afscharische language or Afscharisch (proper name: Afşar dili, Afşarca or Afşar Turki, ie " afscharisches Turkish " ) is a Turkic language in Iran. It belongs to the southern Turkish languages in the Turkic languages . The language is named after the tribe of the Oghuz Afshars ( Afşar ).

Number of speakers
According to different data speak in Iran today to around 29,000 people Afscharisch as their mother tongue, in Afghanistan some 5,000. When the speakers are mostly elderly people and the language is in danger of extinction.

Textualization
Afscharisch applies in Iran officially schriftlos. To override the fragmentary written monuments of Afscharischen but the Arabic alphabet was always used.
