Features
The moths have a wingspan of 15-23 mm and are light to sulfur-yellow colored. Before the wing center of the front wing is a rust-colored stain and also a rust-colored oblique stripe, which extends to the wing center but can occasionally be extended also to the wing margin. The hind wings are dark gray.

Way of life
The polyphagous caterpillars of Agapeta hamana live in the soil and feed on the roots of thistles ( Carduus ), thistles ( Cirsium ), dyers Forcella ( Serratula tinctoria ) and clover (Trifolium ). The caterpillars pupate in a white silk cocoon in the soil.
Flight times and caterpillars
Agapeta hamana forms two generations a year, flying from May to September at dusk or at night. The moths are also frequently encountered in artificial light sources
