Agathocles of Egypt

Agathocles (Greek Ἀγαθοκλής ) was a politician of the Ptolemäerreichs.

He was born the son of the Macedonian crown prince Agathocles and his wife Oinanthe. In his youth he was cupbearer to the king Ptolemy III court. and later ἑταῖρος ( companion ), ἐρώμενος ( lover ) and concubinus ( bedfellow ) of King Ptolemy IV no later than 219 BC, he led, together with Sosibius Egyptian politics and took an active part in the preparations for the battle of Raphia. 216/215, he was Alexander priests, 207/206 owner of a country estate. His sister Agathokleia was an influential mistress of Ptolemy IV

Well by will forgery he was 204 together with Sosibius guardian of young King Ptolemy V. The following year he was assassinated along with his relatives by a frenzied crowd.
