Agersø is a Danish island between Smålandsfarvandet ( German Smålandshavet ) and the Great Belt prior Zealand.

The 684 -acre island stretches 7 kilometers from north to south and 3 km from east to west. The highest point of Agersø located 12 m above sea level. The island forms a separate parish municipality (Danish: Sogn ), Agersø Sogn, and belonged until 1970 to Harde Vester Flakkebjerg Herred in the former Soro office, since the Skaelskoer municipality in the former Vestsjællands office in the municipal reform on 1 January 2007, the Slagelse municipality has risen in the region of Sjælland. The largest part of the area of the island is used for agriculture.

On the island of 181 people ( as of 1 January 2013). Agersø belongs to the Association of Danish small islands.

Agersø is an intricate network of colorful houses and farms. A village pond is the center for the inhabitants. In the small port, fishermen pay their catch and offer fishing trips in which up to 63 meters deep sea area of.

The most beautiful nature reserves lie at Egholm on the northern tip of Agersø and on Omøsund in the south of the island, where the little Helleholm adjoins Agersø. The island and the bars have a great flora and birdlife. The bogs, beaches and salt grass meadows of the island are used by many different watt and beach birds as nesting sites.

The ferry takes 15 minutes for the crossing to Stigsnæs.
