Research activities

Agnes Ibbetson was the daughter of Andrew Thomson. Her research interests were in the field of plant physiology and plant anatomy. My main interest here were the subjects breathing, budding, fertilization and germination. She led by microscopic studies on pollen and air vessels and presented the results of them in more than 50 posts in Nicholson 's Journal and the Philosophical Magazine Represents the British Museum preserves a manuscript of Agnes Ibbetson on, setting out that buds arise endogenously. Also, several slides and pieces of wood, which they themselves have prepared are housed there.
