Agona Swedru

Agona Swedru is a place in the Central Region in the West African nation of Ghana.

At the last census of the country on 26 March 2000, there were 45 614 inhabitants in the city. Extrapolations from 1 January 2007 estimate the population to 52 161 inhabitants. Even in the census of the year 1984 31.226 inhabitants were listed. Currently, the city is located at 25th position in the list of the largest cities in Ghana.

The city is about an hour drive from the capital Accra. It pervert the so-called Trotros, Common transport vehicles, as well as the larger Metro buses.

In Agona Swedru there are several small shops selling almost everything; two dealers who specialize in the popular in the hilly surroundings bicycles.

The Green Land Hotel is a top tourist destination. In govermental hospital work occasionally volunteers. There are a privately owned laboratory, as well as a Cocoo drink manufacturers.
