Agradoot

Agradoot was a film collective of the Bengali film. Behind it stood a group of film technicians who recorded jointly responsible for the Director under this name.

The core of the group was formed in 1946 and consisted of Bibhuti Laha (camera), Jatin Datta (sound), Sailen Ghosal ( film lab ), Nitai Bhattacharya (screenplay) and Bimal Ghosh (Producer). Bibhuti Laha was the driving force; he led under the name Agradoot still directing after most other group had already left and worked under his own name as a cameraman.

In the 1950s and 1960s they turned several commercially successful comedies with Uttam Kumar as Agni Pareeshka (1954) and the early Pathe Holo Deri color film (1957). Her film Lalu Bhulu (1959 ) was successful in 1964, directed by Satyen Bose as a Hindi remake titled Dosti.

Among the filmmakers who are temporarily a member of the film collective, include Saroj De, Salil Dutta and Arabinda Mukherjee. Other Indian film collectives were Sabhyasachi, Agragami, Yatrik, Chitra Chitra Council and Sathi.
