Agrippa Postumus

Marcus Agrippa Postumus Vipsanius (* 12 BC; † 14 AD) was the youngest son of Marcus Agrippa and the Vipsanius Iulia, the daughter of Augustus.

Agrippa was born after the death of his father, hence the name " Postumus ". After the death of his older brothers Gaius Caesar and Lucius Caesar, he was 4 AD adopted by his grandfather Emperor Augustus along with his stepson Tiberius under the name Agrippa Julius Caesar and thus the possible heir to the throne. Allegedly due to his way of life - more accurate is not known - however, he was disinherited two years later and exiled just like his mother before him and his sister Julia, first to Sorrento and in year 7 on the island Planasia. Immediately after the death of Augustus in AD 14 he was killed by an officer not to make the claim of Tiberius to the throne in question. Tacitus mentions this as "the first crime of the new government." Even in ancient times it was disputed whether the command was still given by Augustus or Tiberius already.

The slave Clemens, who then pretended to Agrippa, and in Italy a considerable flock of disciples gathered around him, was killed in the year 16 in Rome of Tiberius command.
