Ahititi

Ahititi is a small town in the Taranaki region of New Zealand. State Highway 3 runs through the town. Mokau is 23 km to the north, 26 km south-west and Mimi Kotare 16 km east. The Tongaporutu River flowing past the northeast Ahititi and flows about 5 km north-west at the North Taranaki Bight in Tongaporutu. The place name means in the Maori language " cooking fire" ( ahi ) for " petrels " ( titi ).
