Ahmad ibn Ajiba
Shaykh Ahmad Ibn ' Adschiba (Arabic: أحمد بن عجيبة; * 1747, † 1809) was a poet, scholar and great Wali from Morocco, a Sufi from the Darqawiyya tariqa, a branch of Schadhiliyya. He was a disciple of Muhammad ibn Ahmad al - Buzidi (d. 1814), who in turn was a student of ad - Darqawi.
He was the author of numerous works, including a major glossary (in short: Mi ʿ raj ) the terminology of Sufism. His Two Treatises of Unity of Existence ( Wahdat al - Taqyīdāni fī wuǧūd ) were translated into French ( Deux traità sur l' Unite de l' Existence ), his autobiography into English (title of the English translation: Autobiography of a Moroccan Sufi Ahmad Ibn ' Ajiba ).
In recent times, the Frenchman Jean -Louis Michon (1924-2013) has rendered outstanding services to the exploration of his work.
