Ahmose (18th dynasty)

Ahmose was an ancient Egyptian high dignitaries of the New Kingdom. He probably lived under Thutmose III. and Amenhotep II and was the high priest of Heliopolis, the king's son. He was probably a son of Thutmose III. , Even if they paternity is not explicitly expressed in inscriptions and is based on stylistic classification of its monuments, so that there are various assignments in the literature.

Ahmose is known by two statues, a stele and a scarab. His title among other things: Big the scene ends of Re and Atum, the king's son, God's father and head of all works of the Lord of the Two Lands. He also wore a few titles that stood with the administration of the temple in Heliopolis in conjunction.

From the New Kingdom, there are various high priest in Heliopolis Polos, who were also sons of a king. Ahmose is the oldest evidence that royal children were placed in this important position.
