Ai-Ais Hot Springs

| Ai- | Ais [ Khi 1] ( Khoekhoegowab for very hot, often written Ai -Ais ) is a thermal spa in southern Namibia. It is part of the | Ai- | Ais Richtersveld Transfrontier Park.

The thermal water is around 60 ° C hot and rich in sulfates, chlorides and fluorides. The outside temperatures can reach 45 ° C, often even higher.

The state thermal baths next to the source is a popular recreation area in the winter. The water is beneficial especially for rheumatism. There is an indoor pool with different temperatures pool and an outdoor pool. After extensive remodeling and necessary renovations, the facility was officially opened again on August 27, 2009.

From May to August is | Ai- | Ais a popular starting point for the 5 - day trek in the Fish River Canyon ( river fish ) or in the Huns Mountains. Here, numerous species of wildlife and birds can be observed.
