Aidan White (footballer)

Aidan Peter " Aidy " White (born 10 October 1991 in Leeds ) is an Irish footballer who is currently at Leeds United.

Career

Association

White began his career in the youth club Leeds United, who played at the time in the second highest English football league. He played his first game for the senior team on 26 August 2008 at the League Cup against Crystal Palace at the age of 16 years. He made his league debut on September 20, 2008 in a 2-0 win against Carlisle United. In December 2008, White signed a professional contract until June 2012. The end of the season he had to stop due to an injury.

In the first league match of the following season against Oldham Athletic he was able to convince, but had to be replaced in the second half because of cramps caused by nervousness.

However, in the 2009/10 season, he only came to a few substitutions. On 18 November 2010 he was loaned to January 3, 2011 at Oldham Athletic, as White according to coach Simon Grayson should gain more playing experience. His first professional goal he scored in his first game against Dagenham & Redbridge for Oldham. Also in the next game he scored a goal against Exeter City. On January 27, he moved to the end of the season again on loan to Oldham. As previously achieved against Carlisle United and Hartlepool United a hit White in the first two games.

After promising lending, which helped him to relieve his nervous spasms, White returned to Leeds United. After the 3-0 defeat against Manchester United on 11 September 2011, he stated that he has overcome the ongoing spasms. After that he became a regular player as a left -back. In December 2011, Leeds United White presented a four-year contract he signed but will not be, since there were already rumors about the interest of high-class clubs. After the expression of interest from Newcastle United White was again offered a contract extension. But international clubs such as Celtic FC, Lille OSC and Werder Bremen have shown interest.

National

On March 2009, White his first and only game in the English U- 19 when he came on in the 73rd minute against the Czech Republic. The match ended 0-0 draw.

Because of his Irish ancestry, White decided to be aground for the Irish U -21 national team. His first game he played 10 August 2011 against Austria, which was won 2-1. His first goal for Ireland, he scored in a 2-0 win against Liechtenstein.
