History

Aidhausen was named first documented in the year 824 and was an office of the Prince-Bishopric of Würzburg, which belonged to the Frankish Empire Circle from 1500. It was ceded to the secularisation of Bavaria in 1805 in favor of Archduke Ferdinand of Tuscany to form the Grand Duchy of Wurzburg, before it reached the Treaties of Paris in 1814 to Bavaria. By the year 1942, when the last Jewish families were deported to extermination, there was a Jewish community in the town.
