Aimargues

Aimargues is a commune with 25,565 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011 ) in the department of Gard in the Languedoc- Roussillon region; it belongs to the district Nîmes and Canton Rhôny - Vidourle.

Geography

Aimargues located 20 kilometers southwest of Nîmes and 27 km east of Montpellier between the rivers Vidourle and Rhôny in the Petite Camargue.

Economy

Aimargues is the headquarters of the internationally operating company Royal Canin, which produces dog and cat food and markets.
