Aimo Tepsell

Aimo Tepsell Allan ( born May 8, 1932 in Sodankylä ) is a former Finnish orienteers. Tepsell 1966 vice world champion in singles as well as with the Finnish relay. With this he was two years ago already become European champions.

In the 1950s and 1960s Tepsell belonged for a long time at the best orienteers in Finland. In 1954 he was Finnish champion for the first time. In his career should follow four other Finnish Individual Championship title. In 1962 he took part in the first European Championships in Norway Løten and finished 14th with the team he won the relay competition, but not part of the official competition program of the European Championships. Two years later, the now official relay competition was again the win the Finnish Season with Juhani Salmenkylä, Rolf Koskinen and Erkki Kohvakka. In the individual competition Tepsell was behind Kohvakka and Swiss Alex Schwager third parties. When Jukola relay race in 1965, he brought his club Gamlakarleby IF from Kokkola as the final runner on second place behind the Swedish top team IFK Hedemora. 1966 Tepsell became vice world champion in individual running behind Åge Hadler from Norway in the first World Cup in the Finnish Fiskars. With the Finnish team - the same as for the European Championship triumph in 1964 - won Tepsell as cage rotor again silver. Gold won the runner from Sweden. For the second World Championships in 1968 Tepsell was not nominated.
