Air Accidents Investigation Branch

The Air Accidents Investigation Branch ( AAIB ) is a traffic authority of the United Kingdom, examined the aircraft accidents and reports to the Department for Transport. His office is located at Farnborough Airfield Farnborough in the County of Hampshire.

History

The history of authority goes back to 1915 when it was established under the name of Accidents Investigation Branch (AIB ) of the Royal Flying Corps (RFC). In 1987, the organization its current name after she was repeatedly assigned to other authorities.

Organization

The body of the AAIB staff consists of a staff of 53 people who are under the guidance of the Chief Inspector of Air Accidents and his deputy, Deputy Chief Inspector of Air Accidents. Tests are carried out by one of five groups. The latter are each headed by a Principal Inspector.
