Air Aruba

Air Aruba was the national airline of Aruba as part of the former Netherlands Antilles, with seat and base in Oranjestad.

History

Air Aruba was founded in September 1986 by the Government of Netherlands support. The first flight took place on 18 August 1988 with the help of KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and Air Holland with a NAMC YS- 11th First, put Aruba Air turbo-prop aircraft in the form of three NAMC YS -11, which were subsequently replaced by two Embraer EMB 120 and complemented by Boeing 757s for use after Miami. Later used exclusively own and leased jets in the form of a Boeing 727, three Boeing 737-300 and a Boeing 767 which were later replaced again.

From Queen Beatrix International Airport several places in the U.S. and South America were served. Later flights followed to Amsterdam and Cologne / Bonn Airport.
