Air Comet Chile
Air Comet Chile was a Chilean regional airline based in Santiago de Chile. She was owned by the Grupo Marsan and several Chilean partner. The main base was the Comodoro Arturo Merino Benetiz International Airport.
History
Air Comet Chile was founded in 2004 as Aerolínas del Sur by Grupo Marsan and several Chilean shareholders. The participation of Chilean partner was necessary since the founding of the Marsan subsidiary Aerolineas Argentinas had been operated. According to Chilean law domestic airlines may not be in the majority stake owned by foreign companies or individuals. The end of 2007, the Company received in accordance with its Spanish sister company Air Comet its present name " Air Comet Chile ". She was the third largest airline of Chile. In the meantime, her name was also Aerolíneas Austral Chile.
On 7 November 2008, Air Comet Chile flight operations " indefinitely " is set. A planned collaboration with Sky Airline had failed.
