Air Movement and Control Association

The Air Movement and Control Association International, Inc. ( AMCA ) is an independent, international and non-commercial organization, standards and certifications for ventilation devices and applications designed sets and monitors. A similar facility in Europe, for example, the Eurovent or TÜV. The AMCA Seal applies on the American and Asian markets as a quality feature.

The AMCA certified by the air handling applications mainly include ventilators, fans and air curtains and air monitoring stations and laboratory test stands for measuring eg Air and sound performance.

The AMCA was founded in 1955 and was formed from the merger of predecessor organizations National Association of Fan Manufacturers ( NAFM ), Power Fan Manufacturers Association ( PFMA ) and the Industrial Unit Heater Association ( IUHA ). The organization is headquartered in Arlington Heights, Illinois. President of the organization is Michael Barry. Member of AMCA can be manufacturer of air conditioning applications such as fans, fan and air curtains and air monitoring stations and laboratory test rigs.

Objectives and tasks

The organization 's mission is to promote the growth of the industry for ventilation applications and compatible with the public interest. These include the support of the manufacturers in the development of and compliance test methods for product certification and representative tasks that affect the industry.

AMCA standards

AMCA publishes standards and standards of design, manufacture and certification of air conditioning applications and inspection stations. In these standards, there are notes and recommendations for technicians and engineers who can be considered in the design and development, evaluation and troubleshooting of HVAC applications to rate. Several published by the AMCA standards and guidelines have been recognized and adopted by the American National Standards Institute. AMCA International is represented with its member companies and laboratories in Committee of the International Organization for Standardization and involved in the development of global industry standards.

Certification

The AMCA Certificate is mainly known for the certification of fans. Manufacturers of ventilation and air-conditioning equipment can AMCA seal with a certification program, the Certified Rating Program ( CRP) obtained when the units comply with the prescribed norms and standards there. For fans it mainly air and sound performance measureable. Air power includes the measurement of physical quantities flow, pressure, power and efficiency as well as the associated characteristic curve. The sound power is composed of the suction and pressure side sound power of the device. More ventilation applications such as fans and evaporators are eg tested for pressure drop, outflow behavior and splash resistance.
