Air Sénégal International

Air Sénégal International was a Senegalese airline from Dakar. Main shareholder was 51% of the Moroccan Royal Air Maroc. The second shareholder was the Senegalese government.

History

The roots of the airline dates back to February 1, 1971 when the airline was founded. In 2001 she was acquired by the Royal Air Maroc and led by a restructuring by its first flight on 23 February of the same year. Homebase of the company was the international airport Dakar -Yoff -Léopold Sedar Senghor.

Air Sénégal International conducted national flights, among other flights to Cap Skirring, Saint- Louis and Ziguinchor. Internationally, about Accra, Bamako, Conakry and Praia find in the flight plan. Intercontinental is operated, for example, Lyon, Madrid, and Paris.

Air Senegal promoted in the year 2005 490.000 passengers and achieved sales 70 billion CFA francs. It was considered one of only a few safe airlines in West Africa.

On 24 April 2009 Royal Air Maroc moved to disputes with the government of Senegal back all his machines. The Government announced, as only two machines were available, the end of the airline known. Successor of the airline was founded in the October 2009 Sénégal Airlines.
