Air Vanuatu is an international airline in Vanuatu. It is the national airline of the island nation and has its headquarters in the capital Port Vila. Homebase is the farmer Field Airport. Air Vanuatu operates to New Zealand, Australia and oceanic states.

History

The airline was founded in 1981 under the name " New Hebrides Airways ". After the independence from the United Kingdom and France in 1980 it was a year later renamed Air Vanuatu. She's since December 1987 in the possession of the Government of Vanuatu. 2004 Air Vanuatu bought the airline Vanair and took a Boeing 727 Air Vanuatu flies to three international destinations and has representative offices in Australia and New Zealand.
