Airport Improvement Program

The Airport Improvement Program is a federal grant program of the United States that grants Airports grant for improving their safety and performance. The program supports projects related to the improvement of start and runways, taxiways, ramps, lighting, weather stations, navigational aids, the land acquisition and some areas of planning. Funding for the program is provided by a tax on airline tickets and fuel.
