Airton José dos Santos

Airton José dos Santos ( born June 25, 1956 in Bom Repouso ) is Archbishop of Campinas.

Life

Airton José dos Santos received on 8 December 1985, the ordination. Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop on 19 December 2001 in Santo André and Titular Bishop of Phelbes.

The Bishop of Santo André, Décio Pereira, donated him on 2 March of the next year, the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were David Picão, retired bishop of Santos, and Manuel Parrado Carral, Auxiliary Bishop of São Paulo.

As a motto he chose UT DEUS FACIAM VOLUNTATEM TUAM. On 4 August 2004 he was appointed Bishop of Mogi das Cruzes, and introduced into the office on 26 September of the same year. On 15 February 2012, he was appointed Archbishop of Campinas and introduced into the office on 15 April of the same year.
