Aish tamid

The term Esch tamid (Hebrew אֵשׁ תָּמִיד, lit. " Eternal fire " ) described the eternal light which was burning in the altar of the Jewish Tabernacle. It is not to be confused with the Ner Tamid. In modern practice of Jewish life, the Esch tamid is obtained by daily prayer and study of the Torah symbolically alive.
